CAN TONI PERA, SAN JOSÉ, IBIZA
Rustic Escapes has embarked on an ambitious project to fully restore a 500 year old farm or finca in Ibiza, bringing it back into full production by replanting 32000 metres of hillside with olive and almond trees, while tenderly nurturing the surviving 800 year old olive trees and ancient vines, which will hopefully once again provide the finca with wine and olive oil. Herb production and a kitchen garden with a variety of fruit trees are also being planted. The farmhouse has been rebuilt and installed with wifi, air conditioning and modern bathrooms and both an indoor and outdoor kitchens; while maintaining authentic features such as the old olive press, a wood burning oven, an open chimney and lovely sabina beams in all of the living areas. Original doors and windows along with artefacts retrieved from the original farm have been restored and replaced in the finca´s six bedroooms , all with bathrooms ensuite.
We have also brought back the donkey! Although she no longer has to trudge daily around the still existent olive press, being free to roam instead amongst the trees, along with the sheep and hens, ready to provide our guests with fresh milk and eggs. Cheese and bread making , the processing of wine, oil, almond milk and soaps; herbal infusions and recipes traditional to the island are some of the many experiences Rustic Escapes can offer its guests who can combine these activities with country walks and visits to the beautiful beaches close by. There is no need for a car as the finca is hidden away, down a quiet lane behind the church of the busy yet small, picturesque town of San Jose, connected by public transport to the airport, Ibiza city and the town of San Antonio. Our Rustic Escape concierges are standing ready to accompany guests so that they can make the most of their stay and discover an Ibiza few have ever seen.
We welcome enquiries from guests wishing to be amongst the first to visit Cán Toni Pera.
