A wander in the w…huerta!

My first walk in the Valencian ´huerta´since before lockdown. Do you know how to pronounce the spanish word for kitchen garden, huerta? Its ¨where-tah!¨. Hence my little alliteration above…a walk in the w…huerta. Such a joy. I love it and used to do it every afternoon after school, with my four lovely little dogs. They were so excited, and I´m sure , amazed, yesterday evening, when I shouted the magic words…walkies! I don´t think they believed me until they tumbled out of the car into the fields.I love watching things grow; seeing nature unfurl and the little shoots of onions and potatoes pushing up into the sunlight.  There were fields and fields of palms too. Apparently the local farmer sells these all to Germany. I quite often stop to chat to farmers in the fields. They can give you a fascinating insight to their lives and the life cycle of each of the fields. As you can see the Valencian Late oranges are still green while the Clementines are golden orange and ready to be picked. As the sun set a happy me and four dogs wandered back to the car, enjoying see the sun set over the village.

Having read this I thought it was really enlightening. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this informative article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worth it!
